What You’ll Do- Lead and manage all plant‑wide safety programs and initiatives
- Maintain and update the company’s Safety Manual and Accident Prevention Program
- Conduct regular safety inspections across welding, fabrication, machining, and yard operations
- Deliver safety training programs including LOTO, confined space, hot work, PPE, forklift/crane, welding safety, and chemical handling
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA logs, documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance records
- Partner with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and HR to improve processes and prevent hazards
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and lead continuous improvement projects
- Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to leadership
- Manage PPE and safety equipment inventory
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA, auditors, insurers, and regulatory agencies
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards
- Experience working in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, welding operations, or industrial environments
- Ability to lead training, conduct audits, and perform root cause investigations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to documentation accuracy
- Ability to influence a positive safety culture across all departments
- Comfortable working in fabrication shops, weld bays, machine areas, and outdoor environments
- Safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST) are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of industrial, construction, or manufacturing safety experience
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Experience maintaining and updating safety programs and compliance documentation
- Advanced safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
