Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) is a Critical Access Hospital located in West Texas, serving the community since its organization in 1967. In 2012, a new 18‑bed facility was opened on I‑20, continuing its mission of providing high‑quality, compassionate care to a rural population.
Summary of ResponsibilitiesAn Occupational Therapist is responsible for examining, treating, and instructing patients using activity re‑education techniques, particularly for those who are disabled or weakened. The therapist provides instruction, support, and supervision to help patients perform activities aligned with their abilities and interests. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the therapist collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.
Requirements- Education: Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation and the American Occupational Therapy Association, or eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association, or achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted by the U.S. Public Health Service.
- Licenses/Certificates: Must hold a current license to practice occupational therapy issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy. Completion of an approved Basic Life Support (BLS) course upon hire and ongoing certification are required.
- Experience: One (1) year of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital or outpatient setting is preferred.
