Location is NW Houston. Working under the oversight of the Chief Accounting Officer, this role will also take ownership of payroll administration and payroll journal entries, job hours tracking, and a range of HR and accounting projects. It is an ideal role for a detail-oriented early career individual who wants hands‑on experience in both human resources and accounting at a growing company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the administrative onboarding of all new hires, including offer paperwork, background checks and drug screens, I-9 verification, PEO and benefits enrollment, and new-hire orientation logistics.
- Coordinate with hiring managers and operations staff to confirm start dates and make sure each new hire is set up and ready on day one.
- Manage payroll administration each pay cycle with our PEO, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, bonuses, and time data, and review payroll registers for accuracy.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts as part of the month-end
- Track and report employee job hours by project to support job
- Support special projects related to field service employee insurance, employee expense management, and payroll
- Assist with employee benefits renewal analysis and the annual open enrollment
- Maintain personnel files and HR records and support other HR administration and accounting needs as they arise
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business, completed or expected within the next 12 months.
- 0–3 years of experience in payroll, HR administration, or accounting (internships count).
- Working knowledge of debits, credits, and basic account
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with high volumes of data and transactions
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential employee
- Experience working with a PEO or payroll
- Exposure to an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business
- Interest in pursuing a payroll (FPC/CPP) or HR (SHRM-CP)
- Bilingual in English and
- Experience in a manufacturing or field service
