Data Center Technician, DCC Communities – Amazon Web Services (AWS) Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support every data center, as well as servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring customers have continual access to the cloud.

• Ensure overall availability and reliability of data center operations, meeting defined service levels.
• Perform in‑depth hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repair.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Install equipment, create documentation, and innovate solutions to improve site efficiency.
• Execute site‑level project work and resolve complex problems within the Data Center Space.
• Take ownership of issues raised by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Act decisively without prior direction or extensive support.
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

• Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.
• Bend, lift, stretch, and reach frequently.
• Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
• Operate in a noisy environment.
• Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations.

• 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
• Ability to operate efficiently under pressure.
