Purpose:
To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary
Purpose:
To assist in the development of short and long-range plans for the integration of third party software applications and the District’s management information systems. To provide skillful computer programming and systems designs to increase effectiveness of the total educational program.
Education/Certification:Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Major in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field preferred.
Experience/Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of computer hardware/software and internet applications. Strong working knowledge of programming techniques, database concepts, and data structures. Database management and report writing for relational databases that employ the use of SQL to build tables, views, stored procedures, functions, jobs, etc. Data warehouse design using advanced data management techniques, ETL, etc. 3+ years of work experience with managing and maintaining an administrative system for K-12 organizations.
Experience with Skyward SMS 2.0 SIS, Weidenhammer Alio FAS , and Tableau Desktop Reporting preferred.

- Plan, install, configure, and test of server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and systems management
- Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development
- Maintain systems performance by performing system monitoring and analysis; troubleshooting system hardware, software
- Secure system by developing system access, monitoring and control; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups
- Provide technical trouble shooting and best practice solutions to district staff personnel problems or written
- Provide a technical support help desk environment to district staff and outside
- Assist Director of Computer Service in developing and preparing internal and external reports
- Maintain functionality of department in the absence of Director of Computer
