Quality Assurance - QA/QC
The NA QHSE Manager is responsible for leading all SPT and Coatings Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) programs across U.S. and Canadian operations. This role ensures compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems, OSHA and environmental requirements, as well as transportation and trade regulations while actively enabling sustainable operational growth.
The NA QHSE Manager will lead the North American QHSE organization, balancing daily operational support while overseeing the continuous evolution of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure it is practical, efficient, scalable and user-friendly.
This role should empower operations to scale sustainably through simplifying processes, eliminating redundant documentation, and ensuring that safety, environment and quality systems help the business run effectively.
Responsabilities - main tasks :
Leads the North America QHSE system, including quality, safety, and environmental governance.
Directly manages the NOAM QMS Specialist (virtual – Canada) and QHSE Coordinator (on-site - Rhome, TX).
Ensures the actual application of Quality System and methodological reaction in case of deviation or non-conformance.
Leads, maintains, and improves AS9100 and ISO 9001 QMS programs across North America.
Oversees QMS transformation initiatives to simplify, digitize, and standardize documentation.
Ensures audit readiness and leads internal and external audits.
Ensures timely closure of non-conformances, customer complaints, and CAPAs.
Oversees OSHA safety programs, incident investigation, and employee training requirements.
Manages environmental regulatory compliance including reporting and waste disposal programs.
Ensures compliance with HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods transportation regulations.
Oversees SDS governance and alignment with global regulatory teams.
Supports import/export compliance, including ITAR / trade compliance requirements.
Owns emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills, incident command roles, spill control, fire prevention, and post-incident reviews.
Ensures measurement and monitoring equipment are controlled and calibrated per AS9100 requirements and site procedures.
Owns the QHSE training matrix, ensuring competency requirements are defined, training is delivered, recorded, and periodically re-evaluated.
Supports development of NA sustainability programs, including waste reduction, emissions reporting (including CO2 emissions), and responsible resource usage.
Acts as the point of escalation for significant customer quality issues, product safety concerns, field failures, or recalls, coordinating investigations and communication.
Develops and tracks QHSE KPIs (safety, quality, audit performance, environmental metrics).
Partners with operations, supply chain, maintenance, production, and customer service.
Ensures processes and documentation support operational flow and business growth.
Coordinates management review activities and provides leadership reporting.
Supports acquisition integration and multi-site QHSE alignment.
Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
