Works under the direction of the Director of Case Management Services of the Texas Civil Commitment Office. Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; developing schedules, priorities and standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and evaluating business function, division, or department activities; developing and evaluating budget requests. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.

Supervises the case managers for the agency. Maintains 24/7 availability to ensure optimal supervision and action regarding supervision and oversight of Sexually Violent Predators. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Manages and coordinates the daily operations of employees assigned to supervise sexually violent predators civilly committed under Health and Safety code, Chapter 841. Oversees and develops comprehensive and accurate audit reports for evaluating the civil commitment program to achieve agency mission and function.

Monitors and approves leave, adjusting work schedules accordingly. Provides guidance and documents employee issues as necessary to improve performance. Conducts comprehensive internal audits of employee work according to policy and procedure. Monitors multiple databases to ensure accurate employee data entry and provides technical guidance. Recommends and coordinates activities to produce a more effective program; provides training, develops policies, procedures, and manuals;

and prepares justifications for and assists in implementing procedural and policy changes. Conducts various research studies concerning civil commitment and develops policies and procedures.
