Production Line Operator

Job Summary

The Production Line Operator sets up, operates, and maintains equipment used in ERW tube manufacturing. This position performs production changeovers, monitors machine performance and product quality, troubleshoots operating issues, and works with team members to meet production schedules and safety requirements.

Monday-Saturday 5:45am-6pm

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, operate, and shut down production line machinery according to established procedures.
• Perform machine and production line changeovers for different tube sizes, materials, and product specifications.
• Adjust machine settings and perform trial runs to verify proper operation and product quality before beginning full production.
• Monitor machine operation throughout production and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent output.
• Troubleshoot equipment and tube forming issues. Report problems requiring additional maintenance support.
• Inspect materials and finished products before, during, and after production using established checklists.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and basic repairs.
• Coordinate with team members to complete changeovers efficiently, minimize downtime, and meet production goals.
• Maintain accurate production, changeover, quality inspection, and maintenance records.
• Follow safety procedures, including required lockout/tagout procedures during changeovers and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in production machine operation, equipment setup, and changeovers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with machine operation, equipment setup, production changeovers, and tooling adjustments.
• Working knowledge of tube forming processes, production procedures, and machine controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot operating issues, perform routine maintenance, and identify mechanical problems.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, production specifications, and inspection checklists.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements and safe equipment operation.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience with chamfering, swaging, drilling, and machining is a plus.
