The USPA’s Social Media Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies in order to increase online presence and improve brand awareness for the United States Polo Association (USPA) and the USPA National Polo Center (NPC). The position is full-time and includes periodic weekend hours due to tournament schedules. The role manages multiple social media accounts, implements and tracks paid ads and develops content to inform, educate and engage the brand’s audience to increase USPA and NPC visibility and achieve marketing goals.
The Social Media Coordinator executes social media strategies under the direction of the Communications Manager, while also supporting the Executive Director of Communications and Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel, ensuring messaging aligns with USPA leadership priorities and objectives, board directives and the Association’s annual budget.
This position requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail and the ability to think and act quickly under pressure. The Communications Division is looking for someone who can confidently manage multiple deadlines, stay aligned with brand standards and bring strong editorial judgment to every post. A deep understanding of analytics is essential. The ideal candidate will be fluent in using data to guide content decisions, optimize performance across platforms and clearly communicate results to stakeholders.
The ability to translate metrics into actionable insights is key to success in this role.
POSITION DESCRIPTION INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
Content Creation and Scheduling• Develop, tailor and schedule written, video, graphic and photo content for USPA and NPC social media across Instagram, Facebook, X and You Tube to maximize engagement and align with each platform’s audience and best practices.• Create and manage the social media calendar for both USPA and NPC.• Articulate creative vision and manage graphic designers for assets intended for social media use.
Social Media Strategy and Engagement• Monitor USPA and NPC social media content and maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels on behalf of the company.• Execute a results-driven social media strategy by tracking engagement and key metrics to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.• Monitor social media channels for industry trends and keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies, particularly Reels and engaging short form video content.•
Research and collaborate with influencers surrounding national USPA tournaments and marquee events.• Engage with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries and comments.
Paid Social Media Campaigns and Analytics• Responsible for planning and managing paid social media campaigns in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.• Review analytics and create reports on key metrics once a month using social media management and reporting tools, such as Sprout Social.
Digital Asset Management• Maintain an organized system of photo/video assets and content libraries for timely and efficient content creation.
Events• Support Communications team during live streamed events. Produce content in “real time” for social media to support and complement the event.• Possibility for travel; must be comfortable using a phone to capture high-quality vertical content, ensuring engaging material is captured for social media platforms.
Skills/ Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree and/or two years’ experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role.• Proven track record managing social media channels for an established brand, driving engagement, audience growth and increased brand visibility.• Firm grasp on the sport of polo—including gameplay, players, broader culture and USPA programs—is highly preferred.• Strong awareness of tone and representation, with a commitment to highlighting the diversity of the sport and its community.•
