Registered Nurse Operating Room Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise OR staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards, JC standards, and Director’s directions.
  • Assist in scrub and circulator roles as needed.
  • Oversee supply and equipment requirements for cases.
  • Coordinate orientation plans for new staff.
  • Assist in staff evaluation and performance reviews.
  • Manage staff timekeeping.
  • Execute projects assigned by the Director.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license.
  • BLS current; ACLS and PALS required (to be obtained within 60 days of hire).
  • Three (3) years’ experience in surgery as circulator or scrub tech preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in surgery management as service coordinator or charge position preferred.
  • Independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, families, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of hospital OR policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, and Joint Commission rules & regulations.
  • Ability to make independent nursing and management decisions.
  • Cultural sensitivity and care planning for diverse patient needs.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Care Record for documentation and chart audits.
