Registered Nurse – Cardiomyopathy Program

Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute is nationally recognized for delivering exceptional, family-centered care to patients with complex cardiac conditions.

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience to join our Cardiomyopathy Program
, working closely with a specialized cardiomyopathy physician and nurse practitioner team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful, longitudinal relationships with patients and families while supporting them across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Position Overview
  • FTE: 0.8 (32 hours per week)
  • Schedule: Four days per week
  • Location: Burnet Campus
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Cardiomyopathy MD/NP team to provide comprehensive patient care in an outpatient clinic with inpatient consult support.
  • See patients during outpatient cardiomyopathy clinic visits
    .
  • Provide care coordination for all cardiomyopathy patients in collaboration with another dedicated RN.
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for patients and families across the care continuum.
  • Visit patients and families during inpatient admissions to:
    • Support discharge planning
    • Provide education related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and ongoing care
    • Offer continuity, guidance, and emotional support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions of care.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
Qualifications
  • Active Ohio registered nurse (RN) license and willingness to obtain a multistate license
    .
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Previous cardiology or pediatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong care coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
