JOB SUMMARY
JOB SUMMARY
:
Performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing and evaluating patient care on the unit and promotes team efforts with physicians and personnel of other departments.
A. Education
:
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing;
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
B. Personal job-related skills
:
Demonstrated ability in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
C. Licensure, registry or certification
:
Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. BCLS certification and ACLS preferred.
D. Experience
1. Prior work experience:
Five years hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, that includes supervisory experience, preferably at a director level.2. Technical training:
Current CPR training and ACLS.
E. Physical and mental requirements
:
Duties of position require moderate physical activity. Extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
