General DescriptionFort Boggy State Park is the midway point between Houston and Dallas, making it an ideal location for family and friends to meet. We offer visitors the opportunity to float in the lake, birdwatch, kayak/paddleboard, explore 4 miles of trails, interpretive programs, and much more. Under the direction of the Park Superintendent and in cooperation with the Regional Interpretive Specialist, this position performs routine (journey-level) operations work in a state park.
Responsible for interpretation, educational programming, promoting conservation, and stewardship of Fort Boggy State Park and its natural and cultural resources. Research, plans, develops, facilitates, and evaluates interpretive and educational programs, exhibits, guided walks and tours, special events, trainings, and outreach programs based on the interpretive master plan of the park and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department mission. Conducts site and agency promotion and marketing.
