Job Summary:

The Quality Control Manager will lead quality assurance and control at the McGregor, TX fabrication facility, ensuring structural steel, PEMB, and cladding products meet rigorous standards. This role involves collaborating with production teams, other company facilities, and outsourcing partners to support high‑quality, scalable operations. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented leader with strong quality management expertise, team leadership skills, and the ability to uphold standards through effective budgeting, reporting, and process oversight in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Quality Assurance team, providing training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of precision, safety, and continuous improvement as production and product offerings scale.
  • Oversee quality dossier management and ensure full traceability of materials, processes, and finished products, maintaining detailed documentation of inspections, non‑conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Manage materials reception processes, verifying specifications, dimensions, surface quality, and certificates, while addressing non‑conformities to uphold standards.
  • Conduct and supervise internal inspections, including dimensional control, visual inspections, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) such as magnetic particle (MP) and ultrasonic testing (UT), ensuring compliance with client and industry requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, logistics, and outsourcing partners (including occasional travel) to align quality standards, share best practices, and integrate quality checks into fabrication workflows.
  • Contract and schedule third‑party vendors for in‑shop and in‑field quality assessments, ensuring timely and effective support for production needs.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (e.g., defect rates, inspection pass rates, corrective action closure times), delivering weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as implementing lean quality practices and advanced inspection technologies, and document their impact in departmental reports.
  • Manage the department budget, including inspection tools, certifications, and contracted services, preparing justifications for changes in workforce or scope.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies, including the proper use of PPE, participation in training, and prompt reporting of hazards.
