** JOB SUMMARY****:
** Responsible for the sampling, inspecting and testing of all produced materials (aggregate, sand, etc.) and compare against specifications. This position works the 3rd shift.
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:
*** Work safely and take actions to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
* Obtain samples on various fine and coarse aggregate products following ASTM and ODOT standards.
* Capable of performing a particle size analysis of coarse and fine aggregate according to ASTM and ODOT Specifications.
* Capable of testing flat and elongated particles in coarse aggregate according to ASTM, AASTO and ODOT Specifications.
* Preparing samples of products for customers and testing laboratories.
* Records and maintains test data and other required information. This includes both written records and data input into a personal computer.
* Ability to analyze and report basic trends in test data.
* Performs necessary housekeeping functions in laboratory area.
* Performs daily maintenance on lab and test equipment.
* Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
* Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

* REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

**** Experience/Education/Skill
*** Possess a safe work history.
* Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program.
* Ability to read, write and figure mathematical calculations
* Good observation skills.
* Self-motivated, organized and has the ability to work without direct supervision
* Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
* Must work well with others in a team environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
* Must be able to quickly understand and adhere to safety requirements of this position.
* Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, over time and weekends as required.
* Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.

* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

*** Lift objects repeatedly of various dimensions and up to 100lbs. of weight
* Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders
* Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
* Ability to tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
* Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting
* Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
