San Antonio Commercial - Fair Oaks Ranch, TX 78015, The Assistant Quality Control Manager helps ensure that construction projects meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to monitor construction activities, conduct inspections, and ensure that materials and workmanship comply with project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and procedures for construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Report any non-compliance issues to the Quality Control Manager and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare and submit detailed quality control reports to the Quality Control Manager and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist in the preparation and review of project documentation, including quality assurance manuals, test plans, and inspection checklists.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure that quality requirements are understood and met.
- Communicate effectively with project teams to resolve any quality-related issues that arise during construction.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss quality control processes, findings, and improvements.
- Ensure all work performed meets local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Assist in conducting safety audits and implementing safety procedures related to quality control.
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on quality control standards and practices.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to construction quality control.
- Inspect incoming materials and equipment to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee the testing of construction materials to verify their suitability for use in the project.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the construction project
- Ensure all on-site compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and company policies.
- Regular attendance required according to company policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with quality control tools, methods, techniques, and testing equipment used in construction, such as moisture meters, concrete compressive strength testers, and non-destructive testing tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to assess quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in conducting inspections, documenting findings, and maintaining quality control records.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using quality control software, Microsoft Office applications, and construction management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret all design drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
