The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality by inspecting and testing materials, parts, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards. This role documents and communicates inspection results, identifies quality concerns, and works closely with production and quality teams to support corrective actions and maintain consistent product quality.

- Tests and inspects parts and materials to ensure compliance with quality requirements, dimensional tolerances, finish specifications, and other established standards.
- Uses computers, gauges, measuring instruments, templates, and other inspection equipment to perform required tests and measurements.
- Inspects incoming products and materials to verify compliance with company specifications prior to acceptance.
- Inspects parts for cracks, finish, contour, warpage, missing components, dimensional accuracy, and other physical characteristics.
- Records and communicates inspection and testing results accurately and maintains required quality documentation.
- Communicates quality findings to Operators, Leads, and other appropriate personnel and identifies corrective actions needed to address quality concerns.
- Identifies potential quality issues when current processes may result in defects or nonconforming products and communicates recommended preventative actions
- Works collaboratively with Plant Management, Shift Leads, production personnel, and the Corporate Quality team to resolve quality concerns.
- Assists with establishing and maintaining quality control procedures and inspection protocols for parts and materials.
- Reviews returned goods associated with quality failures, evaluates identified defects, and assists in determining appropriate corrective action.
- Physically handles and moves parts as necessary to complete inspections, including lifting parts weighing up to approximately 35 pounds. Uses assistance from coworkers or appropriate lifting equipment for heavier parts.
- Performs additional inspections and testing of equipment, parts, materials, and products as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Previous experience performing inspections, testing, or quality-related work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret inspection and test data.
- Experience handling chemicals and/or previous chemical safety training preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate quality concerns and recommended corrective actions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with production and quality team members.
