Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Whatis an Occupancy Verification?
The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Responsibilities- Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
- Complete the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.
- Computer with an internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on your county and its urban or rural nature, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Low‑volume counties pay higher rates; high‑volume counties pay lower rates.
There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
