To greet and seat guests in the outlet using all the techniques and steps outlined in the service standards of Horseshoe Bay Resort. Ensure that each guest is greeted with warm, friendly enthusiasm and seated promptly. Supervise and control seating to ensure fair accommodation of all servers, ensuring guests receive the fastest and most courteous service at all times. May also assist the kitchen operations as food runner and expeditor to ensure all orders are served in a timely manner and according to menu and customer specifications.

• Maintain guest flow charts to track number of guests to each station and volume per hour.
• Ensure that the entrance to the outlet has someone to greet guests at all times, ensuring each guest is a member or a guest with proper credentials.
• Ensure cleanliness of the outlet at all times.
• Check every table/chair setting to ensure it is clean, spotless and fully set up with silverware and glassware before guests are seated.
• Check on guests to get feedback on the quality of their meals, service, etc., and share any problems that arise immediately.
• Schedule servers for breaks in conjunction with the supervisor depending on business volumes.
• Pitch in and help in service whenever the need arises, including food runner and expeditor tasks.
• Have excellent knowledge of resort and surrounding communities, methods of transportation, etc., to converse with customers and give helpful suggestions.
• Have excellent knowledge about the wines and menu items to answer questions and offer suggestions.
• Be thorough about knowledge of hotel services offered, operating hours of all food and beverage outlets.
• Effectively check out all servers as they finish shifts to make sure all following are completed: all tables/chairs completely set up, all side work assigned is completed, all floors clean, all check issues recounted and closed at the register.
• Check all associates for proper name tags, shoes, clean and proper uniforms, appearance.
• Communicate all necessary information to incoming host/hostess and supervisor and write down all messages in the host/hostess communication log.
• Conduct menu class and taste panels in conjunction with the supervisor/manager and the kitchen.
• Report to work in proper uniform and in accordance with the grooming standards required of all Horseshoe Bay Resort associates.
• Follow all departmental rules and regulations, such as calls for coming in, red sticker policy, requesting time off, etc.
• Comply with Horseshoe Bay Resort "clean as you go" policy.
• Before leaving your work area, always check with your supervisor.
• Follow host/hostess opening and closing checklist thoroughly.

• Previous experience in food service environment; host/hostess experience preferred.
• Requires problem solving abilities.
• Pleasant demeanor with teamwork attitude; ability to work well with others.
• Requires excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English; other languages valuable.
• Ability to listen and follow directions.
• Impeccable standards of appearance and grooming.
• Maintains proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
• Good physical health and ability to perform work quickly.
• Self-starter and strong initiative to serve guests.
