SUMMARYInspects lease wellhead equipment to maintain performance; keeps accurate records of production on gas leases; checks oil, gas, and water levels and monitors gauges for correct pressure; performs maintenance and minor repairs on lease equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Maintain operations of wellhead equipment; keep accurate records of production; troubleshoot and correct issues, gauge tank batteries, maintain pumping units, saltwater pumps, repair small leaks, and report production information.
- Operate, test and inspect pumping and wellhead equipment to ensure proper operation; maintain electrical panels, gas engines, testers, phase separators, water knock‑outs, heaters, stock tank and compressors on sites. Detect oil, water or gas leaks, broken seals on tank valves, and ensure proper equipment operations; collect, analyze and reset malfunctioning automated wells.
- Repair production equipment such as replacing defective valve seats, replacing elements in filters on compressor skids, minor repairs to stop leaks, etc.; replace gas meter batteries and update charts.
- Read and record daily data from lease oil and gas measurement equipment; complete required paperwork (gauge sheets, compressor and engine logs, preventative maintenance logs); enter daily production readings and well‑test readings; run all required reports and recognize when well production is declining; complete timesheets, daily worksheets and logs.
- Ensure tank thief hatches are securely closed; ensure lock‑out/tag‑out procedures are followed.
- Advise water haulers when water is ready for pickup and disposal.
- Pickup at yard and transport solvent, grease, oils, valve seats, gloves and other materials required for regular activities at work sites.
- Ensure proper servicing, maintenance and security for assigned company vehicle.
- Maintain general lease/well appearance; maintain leases, wells, pipeline right‑of‑way signs and various safety signs.
- Perform other duties as determined and required based on project need.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONMust have a high‑school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training preferred.
EXPERIENCEMust have at least 2‑5 years of equipment maintenance and repair experience within an oil and gas production plant/facility.
SKILLS- In‑depth knowledge of electrical panels, gas engines, testers, phase separators, water knock‑outs, heaters, stock tank and all other wellhead equipment and compressors on sites.
- In‑depth understanding of how to test, repair or adjust equipment to retain or recover lost production.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental rules and regulations in assigned areas.
- Working knowledge of computer software used to create and track work orders for mechanical maintenance.
- Working knowledge of lab‑top, note‑pad or other handheld and computer devices.
- Strong ability to read and understand maintenance/operations manuals for equipment specifications, parts and procedures to identify and ensure timely repairs are made.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, delegation and time‑management skills to set priorities and meet assigned deadlines.
- Strong technical and problem‑solving skills to develop feasible realistic solutions to problems, recommending actions designed to prevent problems from occurring and resolving escalated issues when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of and adherence to company and OSHA safety guidelines applicable to the work; maintain up‑to‑date safety knowledge.
Must have a current Texas driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Sit for long periods while driving between company yard and job sites.
- Stand for long periods.
- Lift 40–60 lbs. with or without assistance.
