OverviewTransdev in Perryton, TX is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.

- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe by performing repairs and basic/advanced maintenance.
- Conduct mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including brakes, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, transmissions, etc.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work, complete work orders, order parts.
- Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance at prescribed intervals.
- Remove and replace/repair engine, transmission, and differential assemblies.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Notify supervisor of potential hazards and corrective actions.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval when required.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies, and procedures.
- Move vehicles safely between job sites and work area.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment; clean vehicles as required.
- Other duties as requested.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred.
- State inspection license if required.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
- Substance abuse and physical exam as required by DOT regulations.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outdoors.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); walk long distances; perform rugged activities on uneven surfaces.
- Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, or crouch as required.
- Operate in heavy traffic, dust, fumes, and noise environments.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
