Salary Group: TEXAS-A-16 –
Salary Range: $3,409.83 – $5,094.16 (Monthly, Day shift, Up to 5% Travel, Regular, Full‑time, Nonexempt).
- Perform inspections, adjustments, maintenance and repair work on building systems (plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, electrical) to ensure proper operation.
- Design, execute and document renovation or modernization projects, selecting appropriate materials and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Lead construction or maintenance projects, establishing work schedules, assigning staff, supervising repairs and renovations, and maintaining safe campus operations.
- Process paperwork and maintain accurate records on work orders, projects and material requisitions.
- Support agency disaster response and continuity of operations (COOP) activation as required.
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Knowledge of building systems, industrial safety, fire and safety regulations; of building materials, plumbing and electrical fixtures; welding procedures, HVAC, sanitation and refrigeration.
- Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment; skill in preventative maintenance and inspections of buildings.
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics or sketches; to organize preventive maintenance programs; to supervise the work of others.
- Ability to work independently or with a team; to communicate effectively orally or in writing with maintenance and facility staff.
- High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience (masonry, carpentry, painting, routine maintenance to residential homes).
- Vocational training in a designated trade is preferred.
- Valid TX driver’s license required.

Flexibility in work hours may be required, including overtime, extended hours, weekends and holidays. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
