This position requires a strong aptitude and hands‑on approach in electrical design, implementation, calculation, and theory. It also requires good to strong experience in PLC troubleshooting and the ability to troubleshoot simple to complex circuitry and provide solutions to issues that arise in this area of expertise.
Core Responsibilities- Complete and assign work orders as assigned; record job tickets including start time, work order numbers, account numbers, and equipment numbers; describe work performed; request parts from storeroom and give clerk an appropriate work order number; replace or repair parts as needed to keep equipment safe and operating.
- Perform all assigned tasks and demonstrate proficiency in electrical design, implementation, calculation, and theory; demonstrate good to strong experience in PLC operation and troubleshooting; diagnose electrical and PLC issues and provide valid solutions. Understanding of ladder logic is desired.
- Troubleshoot, specify, and install VFDs as needed.
- Create schematics and bills of material for new project installations.
- Make conduit and circuit runs as needed to support new equipment installations.
- Perform all work with minimum or no supervision.
- Communicate and demonstrate ability to outline problem area and potential solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics.
- Demonstrate an exceptionally good attitude and willingness to do more than required.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Trained and certified in forklift operation or able to obtain certification. Valid driver's license required.
- Trained in LOTO and other safety training as required for safe performance of job duties.
- Self‑motivated, possess or able to obtain leadership skills, able to read, write, and comprehend directives and accomplish those directives with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrate leadership skills in working with others and ability to self‑start projects and tasks.
- High School graduate or equivalent. Technical school certification and or college degree is a plus.
- Formal technical training or five years minimum work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Satisfy the requirements of an Electrical Controls Technician 1I electrical discipline for not less than one year.
- Verbal and written English skills required for safety, equipment maintenance, and recording of information.
Outdoor conditions in heat, cold, wind, high ammonia, dust, mushroom spores. Indoor conditions are often damp and/or wet creating a moist environment. Floors are level concrete. Temperatures range between 20 to 110 degrees.
Maintain sanitation standards as developed and announced. Recognize that special clothing may be required from time to time for sanitation purposes.
