Salary Plan/Grade:

• Transportation Maintenance Tech I: A16 ($50,000.00 - $61,093.92/yearly)
• Transportation Maintenance Tech II: A17 ($51,000.00 - $64,468.92/yearly)
• Transportation Maintenance Tech III: A18 ($53,400.00 - $71,055.00/yearly)

Performs moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: maintenance contract and/or material and process inspections; roadway maintenance and repair; lights and heavy equipment operation; preventative and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Assists in inspecting traffic control devices and their placement at construction project sites for compliance with specifications for devices; safety laws, rules, regulations and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
