Job Overview

Cognitive Intervention Specialist – Management & Training Corporation – Glen Ray Goodman Transfer Facility, Jasper, Texas.

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, $16.00 per hour.

• Provide didactic sessions according to program curricula.
• Present cognitive intervention education and life skills classes.
• Guide and assist clients in complying with facility rules and regulations.
• Supervise client offender work functions and morning wake‑up routines.
• Notify personnel of clients failing to comply with policies.
• Monitor client behavior and report incidents to the treatment team.
• Promote positive social skills through modeling and intervention, and give regular feedback on social skills procedures.
• Maintain accountability of staff, offenders, and property; adhere to safety practices.

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, or health preferred; related experience a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
• Complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT), Training for Trainers (T4T), and Cognitive Intervention Programming (CIP).
• Complete annual in‑service training and pass annual background check approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
