About

The Role

We are seeking a commercially minded, hands‑on finance leader who can combine operational excellence with strategic impact. This person will strengthen financial control, reporting and performance analysis, whilst supporting long‑term growth of the business. The role will suit someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to stream‑line processes, whilst also having the ambition to grow the business. A strong track record of team development would be a real asset.

Accountabilities
  • Manage and provide leadership to the ULS, Amity Law and Legal Eye finance team (4 in total), ensuring daily operations run smoothly whilst driving continuous improvement.
  • Manage the financial systems, procedures, risks and control environment to ensure adherence to policies, reporting & project deadlines and statutory requirements.
  • Lead timely and accurate delivery of monthly reporting deliverables including monthly management accounts, KRI reporting, half‑yearly & annual accounts.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational finance processes, identifying inefficiencies, implementing automation solutions and standardising workflows to enhance accuracy, scalability and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Act as deputy to Head of Finance and Administration (HOFA) for Amity Law.
  • Manage and build strong, productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • Qualified Accountant with 5+ years post‑qualification industry experience in Fin Tech, Prop Tech ideally.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at Executive level.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing new systems, processes and procedures whilst managing change for all affected stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience with regulated environments (SRA, CLC & FCA a definite advantage) and related policies, processes and reporting requirements.
  • High level of personal drive, accountability and motivation to deliver results through others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicative, confident & constructive approach.
  • Strategic, analytical and innovative thinker with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Resilience & solutions‑focussed, always seeking practical ways to make an impact.
  • Prior experience in leading & building high‑performing finance team.
  • Ability and willingness to take a practical approach and undertake work at an operational level.
  • Proven ability to maintain a low‑risk, compliant, “no surprises” Finance function with straightforward policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to understand key financial and business variables in a complex and changing commercial environment.
  • Ability to accurately anticipate emerging and current stakeholder needs and establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
