Skilled Gardener – Vacancy
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic gardener to join a small, dedicated team on a private estate surrounding a 17th-century manor house, located close to the charming market town of Thame, Oxfordshire.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Gardener and the owners, contributing to the development, maintenance, and care of diverse and beautiful gardens
. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team in a stunning setting with varied and rewarding work.
- General estate and garden maintenance, including woodland and parkland management
- Care of ornamental borders, wildflower meadows, water features, and lawns
- Propagation and greenhouse management
- Kitchen garden and cut flower gardening
- Species-specific pruning, trained fruit trees, wall shrubs, hedges, and topiary care
- Operating and maintaining garden machinery
- Previous experience working as a gardener, ideally within a large private estate
- Minimum Level 2 Horticulture qualification
- Competent in a wide range of ornamental and productive gardening skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive, with good organizational skills
- Flexible, with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Respectful of working within a family environment

Working Hours:
Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)
