Business Development Manager

Home based with travel to clients across the UK (ability to travel widely and at short notice required)

Permanent, Full-time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours

Benefits: 26 days annual leave (plus UK bank holidays), pension scheme, private medical insurance, company vehicle and more!

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience + Sales Incentive Bonus

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager, or an ambitious technical professional ready to step up? Do you have technical expertise in water treatment and / or a strong background in industrial sales?

Do you want to play a key role in supporting ecological transformation and delivering sustainable solutions to industry?

This is an opportunity to join a successful global water technologies organisation, where you will be responsible for developing new business and selling technical technologies and solutions into the Healthcare and Industrial markets
, aligned with strategic growth targets.

You will drive and deliver business growth through proactive sales planning, market development, and relationship management, while working collaboratively with internal teams and maintaining a strong understanding of customer technical needs.

What you will be doing…
  • Driving new business opportunities and revenue growth within defined markets
  • Developing and executing territory and account plans aligned to financial targets
  • Engaging with customers to understand technical requirements and position appropriate water treatment and process solutions
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with industrial and healthcare clients
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline and activity records within CRM
  • Representing the business at trade shows, industry events and client meetings
Qualifications

What we are looking for…

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience in business development, technical sales, or field-based sales
  • Technical knowledge or experience in water treatment, water purification, or related process technologies and/or Proven industrial sales experience (e.g. process equipment, utilities, chemicals, engineering solutions, or technical services)
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify, develop and close opportunities
  • Confident communicator with excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role

Desirable:

  • Experience selling into industrial, manufacturing, scientific, healthcare, or laboratory environments
  • Background in process equipment, laboratory equipment, medical equipment, or environmental technologies
  • Experience working with hospitals, laboratories, or regulated industrial sectors
