Primary title: Consultant Anaesthesiologist
About The Opportunity
A leading provider in the Hospital & Surgical Services sector delivering perioperative, operative theatre (OT) and critical care services in the Mumbai metropolitan region. We are expanding our on-site surgical team at the Mumbra facility and seek a seasoned Anaesthesia Consultant to lead OT anaesthesia, perioperative management, and post-operative critical care.
Role & Responsibilities
Provide safe, evidence-based anaesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures in the operating theatre—pre-op assessment, intra-operative management, and post-op handover.
Deliver regional and general anaesthesia techniques, including spinal, epidural, and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks where indicated.
Manage advanced airway and haemodynamic support during surgery and escalate to critical care when required.
Collaborate with surgical teams to optimise perioperative plans, analgesia protocols, and patient-specific risk mitigation.
Participate in on-call rota for emergency OT coverage and provide timely anaesthesia support for trauma and obstetric emergencies as needed.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to morbidity & mortality reviews, and support quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives in the OT.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
MD (Anaesthesia) or DNB Anaesthesiology or DA (Diploma in Anaesthesia) — recognised Indian medical qualification
Valid medical registration to practice in India
Proven OT experience in administering general and regional anaesthesia
Competence in advanced airway management and intra-operative haemodynamic support
Familiarity with ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia techniques
Current certification or demonstrable competence in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred
Experience in perioperative critical care / ICU management
Prior experience in a high-volume surgical OT or multi-specialty hospital
Training or experience in obstetric anaesthesia and emergency OT scenarios
