SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Chieveley
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: 90 - 105 per day

A supportive school in Chieveley is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This rewarding opportunity involves working closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning and achieve their full potential.

The SEMH Teaching Assistant will provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them build confidence, resilience, and positive coping strategies. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in creating a calm and supportive learning environment.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
    Help students develop emotional regulation and resilience
    Deliver targeted interventions and wellbeing support
    Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
    Encourage positive engagement with learning and school life
    Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies

The school is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping young people overcome challenges. Previous experience within education, care, youth work, mentoring, or mental health support would be advantageous.
