Under supervision, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating evidence‑based group and individual programmes. You will create individual rapports with service users to empower recovery.
Job responsibilitiesAs an Occupational Therapist you will be:
- Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
- Planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes under supervision.
- Identifying and actioning referrals both in‑house, including support staff, and to external agencies.
- Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at St Mary’s Hospital.
- Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.
- A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- A UK HCPC registration or applied for.
- Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
