We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established manufacturing site with strong investment plans and clear opportunities for progression.
This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants long-term career development.
The RoleReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide electrical and mechanical planned and reactive maintenance support across a wide range of production equipment.
You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with operations to minimise downtime.
Key ResponsibilitiesReactive and planned maintenance across the site to ensure safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment
Electrical fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives (AC/DC), inverters, servo drives, and single/three-phase supplies
Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Working to PM schedules and monitoring equipment performance (OEE, downtime analysis)
Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activities
Use of a CMMS to record maintenance activities and support asset management
Identification and management of critical spares
Coaching and supporting operators with basic asset care
Supporting project work, installations, and improvement initiatives
High-speed automated production machinery
Conveyors (roller and flatbed)
Cutters, wrappers, strappers
Boilers, compressors, and steam systems
Large-scale manufacturing and processing equipment
Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (approx. % electrical)
Level 3 Electrical qualification minimum (apprentice trained preferred)
At least 5 years experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
Strong PLC fault-finding skills (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley preferred)
Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Confident working independently and as part of a team
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
Good communication skills and a professional approach
Stability in employment (not a job hopper)
Rotating shifts (early, late, nights weekdays only)
No contracted weekends
Paid overtime available
Holiday cover paid at enhanced rates
Salary: £50,000
