Pay: 40 - 45 Umbrella

Location: Thatcham, Berkshire

Sector: Formula 1 Motorsport

Contract: 3-6 Months

Pattern: Full Time Onsite

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer in Turning to join a world‑class Production Engineering team. Our client is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of specialist transmissions for Formula One, Le Mans, Indy Car, NASCAR, and the world’s most prestigious high‑performance automotive brands.

You’ll be responsible for developing CNC programs, optimising machining processes, and supporting the manufacture of complex, high‑precision components used in cutting‑edge engineering applications.

• Produce CNC Turning programs using EdgeCAM
• Run machine simulations using Vericut
• Develop manufacturing methods and machining strategies
• Select cutting tools and identify tooling requirements
• Design and support work‑holding fixtures
• Review engineering drawings and provide manufacturing feedback
• Support Production Engineering and Design teams
• Attend design reviews and liaise with Production Control
• Drive continuous improvement across machining processes
• Maintain Health & Safety and Quality standards

• Mechanical/Engineering background
• Engineering Apprenticeship
• CNC Turning programming experience
• EdgeCAM experience
• Okuma controls
• Strong understanding of speeds & feeds
• Word address programming
• Experience with small batch, precision machining
• Ability to design work‑holding solutions
• Motorsport, Automotive or Aerospace experience

• Siemens NX CAD
• Vericut
• ERP systems
• Fanuc controls
• Experience working in fast‑paced manufacturing environments
