Income Officer

We have an opportunity for an Income Officer to join our Customer Accounts team in Newbury. This is a permanent part‑time role working 30 hours a week, with a starting salary of £25,946–£30,811 (equivalent to £32,000–£38,000 per year). The role involves negotiating payment arrangements with customers, providing welfare benefit and money advice, and preparing applications for court. You will be on standby to visit customers in their homes and occasionally attend court hearings.

• Deliver a comprehensive rent & service charge collection service across the region.
• Monitor customer accounts for all tenures.
• Manage end‑to‑end processes.
• Engage with external agencies, including local authorities, when needed.
• Manage evictions.

• Knowledge and experience in social housing, home ownership or the private rented sector.
• A working knowledge of welfare benefits.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in income management or debt recovery/collection is advantageous but not essential.
• Self‑starter with a proactive approach and ability to work without close supervision.
• Effective decision‑making skills, a diplomatic and confidential approach, and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• Valid driver’s licence and a car, as travel is required.
