Hours:
45 hours per week, with flexibility required around delivery routes, seasonal collections and operational needs
We’re looking for a reliable and professional Delivery & Collection Driver to join a busy food production and logistics operation on a seasonal basis.
You’ll be responsible for delivering chilled and frozen products to customers and collecting products from approved suppliers, while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, temperature control, traceability and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely load, transport and deliver chilled and frozen products on time.
* Check orders, labels and delivery paperwork before departure.
* Maintain temperature controls and complete required temperature records.
* Provide a professional and courteous service to customers, reporting any shortages, damage or queries.
* Collect products from approved suppliers and complete required acceptance checks.
* Check quantities, weights, temperatures, labelling and traceability information.
* Ensure products are correctly identified, separated and securely loaded.
* Complete vehicle safety, cleanliness and refrigeration checks.
* Maintain high standards of vehicle and load-area hygiene.
* Follow all food safety, HACCP, allergen, biosecurity and segregation procedures.
* Comply with road traffic law, drivers' hours, load limits and company driving procedures.
* Report accidents, breakdowns, temperature deviations, damage or safety concerns promptly.
* Accurately complete delivery, collection, vehicle, temperature and traceability records.
* Support loading, unloading, stock movement, packaging, cleaning and other plant duties when required.
* Work flexibly with production, intake, despatch, quality and management teams.
About You
* Full, current UK driving licence suitable for the vehicle used, with a safe driving record.
* Previous delivery driving, food distribution, agricultural or similar practical experience.
* Confident with loading and unloading products safely.
* Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and plan routes effectively.
* Strong attention to detail when handling paperwork, labels, quantities and temperatures.
* Professional communication and customer service skills.
* Comfortable working in chilled environments and around food products.
* Flexible and willing to work additional hours during peak seasonal periods.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Experience with in food, agriculture or temperature-controlled logistics, refrigerated vehicles, temperature monitoring or a quality-managed food environment. Relevant food hygiene, manual handling, health & safety or forklift/pallet truck training would also be advantageous.
