- Operate manual lathes with or without DRO to machine firearm components to tight tolerances
- Work from blueprints, sketches, or sample parts to determine dimensions and machining operations
- Perform threading, chambering, profiling, shortening, and facing
- Use measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, indicators) to ensure exact tolerances
- Perform basic maintenance on machinery and ensure shop cleanliness and safety
- Collaborate closely with gunsmiths and management to meet project requirements
- 2+ years of experience operating a manual lathe in a precision machining or gunsmithing environment
- Experience with threading barrels and barrel shortening
- Strong understanding of firearms components and mechanical function preferred
- Ability to hold tight tolerances (.001" or better) and work with a variety of metals (e.g., steel, stainless, aluminum)
- Comfortable using measuring instruments and working from technical drawings
- Ability to work independently and maintain focus on craftsmanship and quality
- Time management is a must
- Must be legally eligible to work with firearms and pass background screening as required by ATF regulations
- Gunsmithing education or experience (formal or apprenticeship)
- Familiarity with other manual shop equipment (mill, surface grinder, drill press, etc.)
- Understanding of firearm design and functionality
