Position: Certified Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Full-time, The Dalles Columbia River Womens Health

In the heart of The Dalles, Oregon, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has served the Columbia River Gorge community since 1901. We are comprised of a 49-bed hospital, various medical offices, home health, a birthing center and a vast scope of services located throughout The Dalles and the surrounding areas. The Dalles is known for its picturesque views of the Columbia River, local charm and delicious downtown restaurants and bakeries.

Job Summary:

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist,alagaaff physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Job Requirements:

Education and

Work Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent:
    Required
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution:
    Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification:
    Required
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP:
    Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certificate:
    Preferred

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT):
    Required
Essential Functions:
  • Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
  • Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
  • Performs audiometry and vision testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
