Manager of Operations

As WEC’s Manager of Operations, this position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Cooperative’s distribution and transmission systems, including substations, to ensure adequate system capacity and reliable service. This position supports the operation of communications-related equipment and delivery of accurate, reliable load data. This position provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching for direct reports. This position is to develop and implement safety protocols, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with other departments to improve service quality.

Additionally, analyze performance data, prepare reports, and contribute to strategic planning to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field, or high school graduate with substantial postgraduate training and directly applicable experience in electrical utility systems.
• A minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience.
• At least ten (10) years’ experience in utility distribution operations as a Journeyman Lineman or Substation Technician with some of that being in a crew leader or supervisory role. Fifteen (15) plus years of electric operations in lieu of education.
• Proficient use of the English language to communicate (including usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation) with employees, members, and members of the public.
• Coordinate inside and outside the Cooperative with federal, state, city, and county offices.
