Architectural Drafter – AutoCAD | The Villages, FL | Mid-Level About the Role

A Florida-based architecture firm is seeking a CAD Drafter with strong AutoCAD experience to support production drafting across single-family and multi-family residential projects. This in-office role focuses on developing accurate construction documentation that adheres to builder drafting standards and local code requirements.

Ideal candidates will have a background in wood-framed residential construction and a proven ability to produce high-volume, permit-ready drawings with speed and accuracy.

• Prepare complete construction document sets using AutoCAD.
• Apply redlines, markups, and builder design changes to update plan sets.
• Interpret architectural sketches and drafting standards to produce consistent, code-compliant documents.
• Collaborate with internal architecture and CAD teams to maintain quality and production timelines.
• Support drafting for lot-specific plans, plan set revisions, and production deadlines.
• Ensure all deliverables meet applicable building codes, IRC standards, and permitting requirements.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience drafting residential construction documents in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of wood-framed construction and residential drafting workflows.
• Ability to follow architectural redlines, builder markups, and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with IRC and Florida building code requirements.
• Revit knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and production efficiency.
