This opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.

About the role

In our Advanced Manufacturing Group, the Building Mechanical team delivers cost‑effective and transformative projects for heavy industrial clients. This role involves field investigations, interfacing with clients & vendors, sizing and selecting HVAC equipment, and preparing construction design packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout and design of HVAC systems.
  • Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selection, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
  • Creation of final construction documents for systems such as chilled water and cooling water.
  • Coordination with other disciplines.
  • Accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks.
Requirements
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in designing HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • In-depth knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC system design.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with the project team remotely.
Preferred qualifications
  • Software experience in AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
  • Experience in designing plumbing/utility systems.
