I and C Engineer - Entry Level (Data Centers)

Jacobs is hiring an Entry-Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the design, construction, and operation of data centers and industrial facilities across the United States.

$58,656.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

• Oversee the schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
• Design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and designers.
• Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Assist in generating options and optimizations for process control, instrumentation, and automation in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.

• Associate’s or Engineering Technology degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Revit software.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and ability to contribute innovative ideas.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for buildings and construction.
• Prior experience with DDC and PLC‑based control systems.
• Experience with data center design or operations.
