This on‑site role is located at our Baton Rouge, LA site and partners with clients in the data center market to create and support wireless telecommunications systems for data center buildings, including common DAS, public safety DAS, LMR, site radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi and tower studies.
Responsibilities- Analyze preliminary assessments and perform concept creation.
- Lead design activities with support from peers, SMEs and BIM designers.
- Coordinate drawing packages, specifications and technical documents with BIM designers and radio system owners.
- Resolve internal and external problem resolution and conduct site visits.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project managers in budget, schedule, risk management and RFP response.
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, DAS, Wi‑Fi, etc.).
- Proficiency in iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent modeling programs.
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communication needs.
- Knowledge of noise floor, SNIR, return loss, VSWR, NFPA 72/1221/1225, IFC section 510, carrier KPI’s, IBC, FCC parts 20 & 90, FCC OET Bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO, Motorola R56, DMR Tier III, and Navisworks.
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines.
- Certifications:
iBwave Level 2 required; other certifications (e.g., FCC GROL, NICET) are a plus.
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
- EDX or Motorola design certifications.
- FCC GROL, NICET Design Certification, multiple OEM product certifications.
- Electrical or Communication Engineering degree, or EIT/PE.
