ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the director and with the direct supervision of the Charge RN, the monitor technician admits and discharges patients from the monitoring system; communicates cardiac rhythms to nursing when requested or when changes occur; prints and interprets rhythm strips, per policy. Rhythm strips are given to the Unit Secretary for filing. The monitor technician also maintains continuous monitoring for patients on cardiac telemetry;
utilizing a high degree of critical thinking skills to both effectively and appropriately communicate, manage equipment, and alarm settings, per policy. Additional responsibilities include billing input for telemetry and/or other patient charges.
- Education:
High School Diploma/GED - Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
