Lone Star College-Magnolia Center seeks Adjunct Faculty in Geology to provide high-quality instruction in Earth Sciences. This part-time position focuses on planning, developing, and teaching courses that engage students and support academic success in line with LSC’s mission to foster lifelong learning.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeach Geology courses across various times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend classes.
Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote student involvement and learning.
Advise students and evaluate their progress toward course objectives.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations.
Perform other duties reasonably related to instruction as assigned.
Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field, or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in Geology/Earth Sciences.
Strong content mastery and subject-matter expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching or assisting undergraduate courses.
Theoretical expertise in one or more Geoscience disciplines.
Maximum teaching load: five classes per academic year.
Classes held in-person at LSC-Magnolia Center.
