Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer, Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX

Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a Texas PE license to join our growing MEP Engineering team based out of one of our Houston area offices. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design using Trane Trace 700 or similar energy modeling tools. What you will do:
  • Plan and prepare engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working with or as a mechanical Project Manager to meet deadlines and aid in engineering decisions.
  • Create mechanical and plumbing project construction documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Conduct on-site visits to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations. Perform shop drawing reviews, respond to RFIs, and generate observation reports.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an ABET‑accredited equivalent.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Texas.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience with Trane Trace 700 or similar energy modeling tools.
  • Large central plant experience is a plus.
  • High‑level interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Design‑build experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage large‑scale projects.
