What you will enjoy doing*

• You will work on advanced automation projects involving procedural automation, building automatic sequence logic, implementation at customer sites.
• Installation and configuration of Linde image recognition software using a combination of edge computing and cloud computing on the Microsoft Azure platform.
• Identify and develop improvement opportunities in close collaboration with customers and estimate the potential economic benefit.
• Work on Industry 4.0 technologies such as Model Predictive Control, AI Plant Control, real‑time optimizers, support the generation of proposals and present solution concepts to customers.
• Participate in autonomous operations consulting for customers.
• Implement and maintain advanced automation solutions at Linde Gas or third‑party customer sites. Approximately 30% travel with overnight stays is expected.
• Train and support customer personnel in utilizing LAOS solutions.
• Continuously improve the value that LAOS solutions generate for the customer.
• Participate in the development of IT/OT products & platforms for LAOS.

What Makes You Great

• Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD degree in Chemical (preferable), Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• More than 5 years of experience with continuous process plants involving automation & process control. Commissioning/startup experience is a plus.
• Experience and expertise in computer programming in high‑level languages (Python, VBA, MATLAB, C++).
• Understanding of IT/OT network architectures, operating systems, and communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus.
• Passion for new technology.
• Understanding of P&IDs, heat & mass balances, and unit operations such as distillation columns, compressors, turbines, adsorbers, heat exchangers, cracking furnaces, Steam Methane Reformers.
• Knowledge of Model Predictive Control (MPC), Real‑Time Optimizers (RTO), advanced regulatory control (ratio, feed‑forward, cascade), static and dynamic process models.
• Basic knowledge of control systems (DCS, PLC), historian, PID loop tuning.
