Transmission Specialist Sr

• Performs a wide variety of engineering support activities in transmission-related areas such as design, maintenance, and operations.
• Uses engineering and/or technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems, develop cost‑effective, technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.
• Applies knowledge of engineering and/or technical principles in evaluating alternatives, making decisions, and interpreting/employing applicable electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies. Provides leadership and direction to others in the department.
• Supports activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e., NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations, as required.
• Works with other disciplines within the Transmission organization and other company business units to achieve stated goals.
• Assists with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.

Minimum Education: Technical Degree (2‑year Associate or 4‑year Bachelor’s) and/or years of operational experience in electric utilities commensurate with progression level.

Minimum Experience: Four years of experience at a 4‑year Bachelor’s level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Technical mastery of engineering and design principles; recognized by peers as a master in their field; exceptional design skills and judgment; strong leadership and mentoring of other engineers; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proficiency with Personal Computer operations and related software; basic theory of electricity; ability to interpret construction drawings; ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities;

ability to work well under pressure; self‑motivated and dependable team player; good math skills; commitment to safety and hazard mitigation; dedication to a diverse and inclusive environment; process improvement mindset; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Certificates/Licenses: PMP Certification preferred; financial acumen preferred.

Availability to work additional hours, alternate locations, and duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary. Exempt employees may not receive overtime pay for such duties.
