Global Edge Consultants, LLC, The Woodlands, TX seeks a Senior Cost Engineer

Responsible for developing and managing cost estimates, forecasts, and budget tracking for engineering and construction projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors. Supports cost control systems, analyzes project performance, coordinates with cross‑functional teams, and ensures financial alignment with project goals. Assists with procurement and contract activities to support successful project execution and overall cost efficiency. Travel within the U.S. required 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates and financial forecasts for large‑scale engineering and construction projects across energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS), cost coding systems, and baseline budgets to support accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Analyze project scopes and schedules to evaluate cost assumptions, monitor incurred and committed costs, and identify potential risks or deviations.
  • closely with cross‑functional teams including engineering, procurement, finance, and project controls to ensure alignment between financial planning and operational execution.
  • Review and validate contractor invoices, change orders, and contractual commitments to maintain consistency with project controls and company policies.
  • Lead the implementation of earned value management systems and cost performance tracking tools to provide timely variance analysis, estimate‑at‑completion (EAC) updates, and value‑of‑work‑done (VOWD) forecasts.
  • Support procurement and contract management activities by evaluating cost data, supporting negotiations, and maintaining budget integrity across project phases.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and ad‑hoc analyses to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and proactive cost management.
  • Promote continuous improvement in cost control practices by identifying trends, resolving cost issues, and contributing to knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
  • Lead, review and provide guidance to engineers with control system software development to ensure inter‑discipline coordination and overall quality control.
  • Ensure overall technical project performance and best practices are captured and shared utilizing organizational learning systems.
  • Liaise closely with engineering projects and support teams.
  • Support and observe HSSE policies as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or Related Field
  • Experience:

    4 years of experience in the job offered
  • Travel:
    Travel within U.S. required 10% of the time.
