Job Description:

This role is located at our The Woodlands office and operates on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). The Assistant Controller reports to finance leadership, supporting the management of accounting functions, establishing and maintaining accounting principles and procedures, overseeing operating reports and statutory filings, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

• Assist the controller in directing accounting functions and ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports, present them to top management, and provide observations and recommendations.
• Monitor investment policies and company operations.
• Maintain data accuracy and integrity; oversee audits and general ledger reconciliations.
• Review financial data for fairness and completeness.
• Justify expense reports and other expenditures.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and project accounting, including POC revenue recognition.
• Support safeguards of company assets and maintain the internal control environment.
• Assist finance leadership with tasks as needed and handle special projects.
• Support the yearly audit and keep current on regulatory changes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CMA or CPA preferred.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience with preference for manufacturing accounting.
• Minimum 2 years of Oracle JD‑Edwards experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Strong presentation and communication skills; persuasive on complex topics.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and math skills.
• Leadership, supervisory, and management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP financial implementation experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and good interpersonal skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting practices and financial accounting standards.
