About the RoleHappy Veg Inc. is hiring a Senior Accountant / Head of Finance (CFO Track) to join our U.S. headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas.
This is a high-responsibility, high-impact role designed for someone who can fully own all accounting and finance execution today, while growing into the Chief Financial Officer role as the company scales. This position is ideal for a rare profile: someone with the technical precision of a senior accountant, the analytical rigor of a financial controller, and the mental capacity of a CFO—capable of managing complexity, enforcing discipline, and guiding leadership with financial truth.
You will be responsible for every layer of financial clarity at Happy Veg: daily accounting, global consolidation, budgeting and runway management, profitability analysis, and coordination of accounting teams across multiple countries.
Full Ownership of Accounting & Finance Operations- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and monthly closings
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records across all Happy Veg entities
- Maintain strong internal controls, documentation, and financial discipline
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and advisors in the U.S. and internationally
- Prepare and analyze global consolidated financial statements across multiple international entities
- Coordinate accounting standards, reporting timelines, and expectations across countries and currencies
- Serve as the single source of financial truth for leadership
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable international requirements
- Build and maintain budgets per company, per country, and consolidated
- Develop rolling cash flow forecasts and runway models
- Clearly communicate burn rate, cash needs, and financial risk
- Support leadership decisions with real-time financial insight
- Analyze every sale, customer, and product line to ensure profitability requirements are met
- Build contribution margin and true profitability models (beyond surface-level gross margin)
- Identify unprofitable pricing, customers, or structures and flag them immediately
- Partner with Sales and Operations to improve margins and financial outcomes
- Lead financial strategy discussions with the CEO
- Support capital planning, debt strategy, and investor reporting
- Evaluate ROI on new initiatives, facilities, equipment, and hires
- Help design scalable financial systems and ERP infrastructure
- Prepare the foundation for a formal CFO transition
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- (CPA or MBA strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Proven experience with:
- Multi-entity and/or international accounting
- Inventory, manufacturing, or cost-based businesses (strongly preferred)
- High proficiency in Quick Books, Excel, and financial modeling
- ERP experience is a strong plus
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to operate both tactically and strategically
- Self-starter with high accountability and emotional resilience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment
- Initial compensation reflects Senior Accountant / Head of Finance scope
- Compensation increases are tied to company growth, financial clarity, and profitability
- As responsibilities expand, title and compensation will progress toward CFO
- Long-term incentives may include performance bonuses and profit-based upside
